Structural Glazing
Backed by strong workforces, long experience and modern machines, we design and manufacture heavy duty Structural Glazing. This Structural Glazing can easily resist and withstand wind pressure, corresponding beam displacement and provide safety from air and water infiltration. Structural Glazing offered by us is widely used in corporate and commercial building construction industry. In order to meet client’s specifications, we ensured the following points while designing the Curtain wall:- Technical- Structural calculations are done to ensure that proposed sections are capable to withstanding the wind pressure and other loads.
- Glass is well supported and held properly.
- Properly designed gaskets (EPDM or Neoprene) is used which can withstand vibration that originate due to heavy winds and expansions due to temperature.
- Fixing of the frame to structure is so designed which ensures that expansion and contraction in building structure due to temperature variation is not passed on to frame.
- Structural sealant is properly used as per manufacture specification.
- Horizontal to vertical joints should be through well-designed concealed cleats.
Water Proof- Gaps are sealed properly.
- Provision is made in the frame for drainage of water that leaks in. Pressure equalizes curtain wall/SG frame design should be adopted.
Aesthetic Appearance- Finished work should appear as per client’s design from inside and outside.
Functional- Vision and spandrel panels should be correctly separated
- Framework and clamping system should suit the interior work
General Specification for Structural GlazingSystem Design- Design load shall be calculated according with IS 875.3 – PART III.
- The deflection of any structural member shall not exceed L/175 of its clear span.
- Contractor shall submit Structural Design calculations for aluminium frame, which withstand minimum 150 Kg/m2 wind pressure for design as required at site.
Aluminium Sections-Should be extruded in Alloy 63400 and Temper WP (HE9WP) I.S 733 & 1285. Anodising: All section shall be anodized to minimum 15 microns as per ISI 1868. Structural Sealant: It should be silicon sealant Dow Corning 995 or equivalent. The size of sealant should be so designed so that stress on structural sealant shall not exceed 20 PSI under any circumstance. Water Proofing: In addition to providing necessary weather ships sealant, the contractors should provide in the frame a positive Drainage system to eliminate pocketing or pooling of water inside the frame.
